Cathy has had a life-long love for children and a passion to help them achieve their highest potentials and facilitate their growth so that they develop both competence and confidence. She earned a Master of Science degree in occupational therapy from Columbia University and has been working with children with special needs for more than two decades. Her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rutgers University gives her a helpful foundation from which to assist children with their emotional regulation as they work on their therapy goals. Specializing as a pediatric therapist, Cathy has worked with children from birth to 21 years of age with a variety of needs and abilities in the contexts of clinics, schools, early intervention programs, and home settings. She enjoys her field because it addresses human occupation, which is defined as “any productive human activity,” and therefore encompasses all of the tasks in which individuals participate throughout the course of their day. Cathy uses a variety of methods and media such as sensory processing strategies, gross motor activities, music and art as the means for helping children to fully engage and have FUN while they develop important skills.
In her free time Cathy enjoys taking care of her 91-year old mother who is amazing, walking on the beach with her two dogs Tate and Bea, doing Zumba, painting, reading, sightseeing and spending time with her house-church family.

In 2022, I received my B.S. in Elementary and Special Education from Georgia Southern University. Driven by a passion for nurturing young minds and a commitment to aiding others, I began my journey into the field of speech-language pathology. Presently, I am pursuing my Masters at Florida State University. When I am not at the clinic, you can find me spending time with my wonderful fiance, Banks, and our cherished golden retriever, Henry.
I am from Charleston, SC and grew up frequently visiting Amelia Island, and I am now super excited to be moving to Fernandina Beach. I received my Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the Medical University of South Carolina in August of 2024. I am currently in my clinical fellowship year at On Top Therapy and soon to be at Theraplay. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings with both adults and children, including outpatient, inpatient, acute care, and the school setting. I found my passion in working with children with a goal to ensure that each individual I serve has the means to communicate their unique thoughts, feelings, needs, and desires. When I am not at work, I am either making pottery, hiking or spending time with my friends and family over a fun game night.
