Larry Rutland, OTR/L, Owner of On Top Therapy
Larry believes that being successful in therapy begins with a true passion to see client progression to independence. He enjoys building rapport with clients and caregivers through communication and transparency. As an owner, the clients and caregivers will have direct access to Larry at all times which separates On Top Therapy from the other clinics. Larry has 7 years experience in occupational therapy while working with all ages and virtually every impairment where OT is beneficial. Mr. Rutland is happily married to his loving wife Ashley, and has 2 beautiful daughters: Allie and Anna.
Anna's journey into occupational therapy began with her love for working with children as a Montessori Teacher Assistant. Witnessing how kids flourish when gaining independence in everyday skills sparked her passion for helping them thrive. She believes children see the world through a unique lens—one that constantly offers new lessons and perspectives.
Anna earned her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Jacksonville University and has since dedicated her career to outpatient pediatrics. She has experience working with children from birth to 21 years of age, supporting a wide range of needs and abilities. She also has a special interest in helping children with pediatric feeding disorders. Anna takes a holistic, relationship-based approach, believing that connection and trust are the foundation of a child’s success.
Outside of work, Anna enjoys spending time with her husband and friends, reading, dancing, playing the French horn, attending concerts, and traveling.
Bianca was born and raised in Texas. She served in the Navy after graduating high school for 6 years. Upon completion of her service, she began her education at Keiser University in Jacksonville, FL. She has experience in many settings, but her heart is to aide in the success of children. She loves to read, crochet, and spend time with her daughter while jamming out to Disney songs.
Matthew has cultivated a passion for working with pediatric populations since co-teaching a karate class for children with exceptional needs while he was in high school. After beginning a degree in Psychology, he redirected his focus toward Occupational Therapy, subsequently enrolling in the Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program at Keiser University in Jacksonville. Over the past three years, he has been providing care for pediatric patients in school, outpatient, and home settings across the state of Florida. In his leisure time, Matthew is an avid gamer and enjoys immersing himself in science fiction literature.
Brittany received her Masters of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorder from Jacksonville University in April of 2018. Brittany has obtained her American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence and is licensed in KY and FL. She has worked in the schools systems of GA and medical setting in KY, enjoying both inpatient and outpatient facilities for 4 years prior to moving back home to Fernandina Beach, FL. She has a background in music which she incorporates in her sessions. Brittany just married her wonderful husband, Matthew, February of 2023. In her free time, Brittany enjoys playing group games with her husband and friends, singing and spending time with her church family.
I am from Charleston, SC and grew up frequently visiting Amelia Island, and I am now super excited to be moving to Fernandina Beach. I received my Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the Medical University of South Carolina in August of 2024. I am currently in my clinical fellowship year at On Top Therapy and soon to be at Theraplay. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings with both adults and children, including outpatient, inpatient, acute care, and the school setting. I found my passion in working with children with a goal to ensure that each individual I serve has the means to communicate their unique thoughts, feelings, needs, and desires. When I am not at work, I am either making pottery, hiking or spending time with my friends and family over a fun game night.

The philosophy of On Top Therapy is based on the 3 C's of stewardship: Commitment, Communication, and Care. The therapists at On Top are committed to the clients and all involved in servicing the community. All treatment sessions are centered around the clients' needs while integrating motivational factors to ensure efficient progress. Effective communication will be utilized between the therapists and clients/caregivers in order to meet the needs of the clients successfully. We encourage conversations about client progress as seen in environments other than the clinic. We also encourage caregivers to sit in on treatments at their convenience to demonstrate our transparency. And client care is paramount for the success of all who choose On Top Therapy. Every single therapist at the clinic will demonstrate the love we have for assisting clients toward independence.
